Add a PG deal on Journey Canvas

After setting up a Programmatic Guaranteed (PG) deal on the Licensee Settings page, you can add it to a journey on Journey Canvas. If you didn't create a PG deal on the Licensee level, it is possible to add the deal at the journey level. I show you how in this article, too.

Adding a PG deal on Journey Canvas

Open an existing journey (or create a new one) and drag the Open Web tile to the canvas. Click the pencil icon to open the side panel.

Go to the General Settings heading and click Edit.

Under the Path Type heading, select Programmatic guaranteed, and click Confirm in the popup. Then, scroll down to the table and select a deal. If the deal is associated with another journey, illumin greys out the radio button. You can't add a deal to more than one journey. Click Save to keep the settings, then click the X icon to close the side panel.

The step changes into a PG path. It has a new name and one element. illumin auto-adds Flight and Budget information based on the data you entered on the Deals form.

Adding a creative

Drag a creative from the side menu to the PG path. To confirm the creative matches the publisher's specs (or deal settings), click the creative element in the PG path. A side panel displays. Click the Creatives tab. If the specs match the publisher's requirements, the panel displays an Active tag. If there's a mismatch, the panel displays a Not matching deal requirements tag. In that case, review the creative or open the PG deal form in Edit mode and double-check the settings.

Working on Classic Canvas

The Classic Canvas workflow is similar to what I described above, but there are a couple of differences. On Classic Canvas, start by dragging an Open Web campaign onto the canvas or opening an existing campaign. Click the New Campaign button, and select Open Web. After you click the pencil icon and select a PG deal, the shape of the campaign on the canvas doesn't change.

Monitoring fulfillment

If a PG deal is not fulfilling as expected, illumin sends notifications so that you can diagnose and fix the problem. Optionally, use the Impression Filter to track bid request flow and find any issues with bid prices or creatives.
