Configure Open Web & DOOH targeting

illumin puts targeting controls in one place, so marketers can review, update, and customize settings without extra work. For a set-and-forget setup, marketers can configure targeting at the journey level when they create or edit a campaign. These settings act as defaults and apply to every campaign and tactic under that advertiser.

Marketers can also override these defaults and adjust targeting at the tactic level when needed.

The steps to change targeting are the same at both levels. The only difference is where marketers start.

Steps to start the journey-level workflow

If you're building a new journey, the wizard automatically takes you to the Open Web & DOOH Targeting page. If you're updating on an existing campaign, follow these steps to open the Targeting page.

  1. Open the campaign on the Canvas (new experience).
  2. Go to the top of the Canvas and click the gear icon. A new page displays.

Go to the side menu and click the Open Web & DOOH Targeting link. Locate a variable on the page and click the Edit link.

Steps to start the tactic-level workflow

Open a campaign and select a tactic. Click the Targeting tab. Locate a targeting variable and open in edit mode. A side panel displays.

Uncheck the Keep journey targeting settings box. Follow the workflow to enable custom settings.
