Configure General Settings on the Canvas

Campaign-building begins with the General Settings wizard, a step-by-step guide that moves you through the workflow. This article describes the steps in that workflow.

Completing the General Settings form

On the General Settings & Billing form:

  1. Click the Advertiser field.
  2. Select the advertiser for this campaign.
  3. Go to the Journey Name field and enter a unique name.
  4. If you're editing an existing journey, you can update the Journey Name field, but you can't change the advertiser.

Scroll down to the Open Web & DOOH Details form. Go to the Category field and select an option that best describes the content of your campaign. Enter the brand's website domain.

For the Enable Cross Device field, Enable is the recommended setting. If enabled, the platform can track view or click conversions across multiple devices (where technically practicable).

Go to the CPM fields and enter values. Leave the Enable Margin toggle on (recommended). The margin tool is primarily designed for agencies that manage client projects.

FAQs

What happens if marketers leave cross device tracking disabled?

If cross device tracking remains disabled, the platform only attributes conversions to the same device that served the ad. This approach may undercount conversions when users switch devices during the journey. Campaign delivery continues normally, but reporting reflects a narrower view of user behavior.

Can marketers edit General Settings after a campaign launches?

Marketers can edit some General Settings after launch, such as the journey name or CPM values, depending on platform permissions. The advertiser field remains locked to preserve data integrity. Changes apply going forward and do not retroactively update historical reporting.

How should marketers choose the campaign category?

Marketers should select the category that best matches the advertised content rather than the business type. Accurate categorization supports compliance, inventory alignment, and reporting clarity. An incorrect category may restrict eligible placements or trigger review issues.
