Step 1: Log in to WordPress
Step 2: Open Your Pixel Plugin
In the left sidebar:
Step 3: Open Head & Footer settings
Step 4: Paste the Universal Pixel
WordPress installs the Universal Pixel sitewide.
Marketers need access to the WordPress admin dashboard and a copied illumin Universal Pixel. Without admin access, marketers cannot open the plugin settings or save Footer Scripts. The Universal Pixel must exist in illumin before installation begins.
WordPress does not apply the Universal Pixel sitewide if marketers do not click the Save Settings button. The pixel remains unsaved in the Footer Scripts field. Order tracking and visitor activity tracking do not activate.
This workflow requires access to a Footer Scripts or Head & Footer setting within WordPress. If marketers do not use a plugin, they must still insert the Universal Pixel into a footer script area that loads sitewide. The article does not define alternative non plugin methods.
